Joint call for proposals – RQM-MEOPAR

The Réseau Québec maritime and the Marine Environmental Observation, Prediction and Response Network (MEOPAR) are very proud to announce their first joint call for proposals!

This partnership supports projects that promote the sustainable development and protection of the St. Lawrence system, and improve the well-being of coastal communities. For this purpose, four challenges have been identified as strategic priorities:

Human coastal community health

Maritime risk and security

Sustainable maritime industry

Living resources, marine energies and ecosystem services

Through the highly collaborative projects funded, we aim to strengthen connections between researchers, partners, organizations and communities committed to reducing risks and increasing opportunities in the marine environment. The purpose of it is to enhance research impacts, i.e. when the knowledge or research fulfill end-users need (e.g., government departments, policy makers, public and private sectors, not-for-profits, etc.) and are applied by end-users for benefiting to the economy, society, culture, public policy, government operations, the environment or quality of life.

With a total budget of $1.2 M over 2 years, this call for proposals seeks projects of a duration of one to two years, to be implemented between April 2020 and March 2022. The maximum total budget is $200,000 for one-year projects and $400,000 for two-year projects.
